I love getting started on a new series (or a new series within an established world like The Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding), and A Cowboy Kind of Thing just had me smiling throughout at not only the story but the people we’re about to meet – talk about opposites attract!

Tripp is all country and is immensely proud of his small hometown of Royal, Texas – enough so that he’s convinced that Royal is the perfect spot for his cousin’s wedding, after all, who needs Hollywood glitz when you can have everything that embodies Texas in one spot?  Dionna is as city girl as they come, and she can’t for the life of her understand why her best friend would agree to move the wedding from Hollywood to… Royal, Texas, a small town full of, well, cowboys, it seems, and it doesn’t compare to everything she’d had planned for this event back in Hollywood.  Yet, if the bride is happy, really, what can Dionna say to counter the bride’s wishes but “sure, no problem” while inwardly cringing?  That is until the bride and groom’s schedules blew up, and it suddenly was up to Dionna and Tripp to make all the decisions (or so it seemed) for this important “Wedding Of The Year” event.

Tripp has about a week to change a city girl’s mind – and maybe fall in love.  Looks like Royal’s reputation for happy ever afters is as up in the air as befits this town full of love stories that had rocky moments that lead to the altar… eventually.

I had such fun back in Royal, Texas, for Dionna’s and Tripp’s romance.  I love a story where it seems (at first glance) that the couple is so different that they could never find common ground, let alone fall into a forever kind of love.  And I’m happy to say that Reese Ryan, once again, proved me wrong in thinking that love couldn’t find a way.  I always fall a little bit in love with heroes, but Tripp is delightful, funny, sexy, and so sure that his way is the right (or only) way.  It took me a little bit longer to fall for Dionna, but she won me over with her love of her best friend and her willingness to see things differently than she’d imagined.

This is a couple that fits, and it was such a fun, emotional journey watching them fall in love, make some attitude adjustments, and find their own happiness in A Cowboy Kind of Thing.  If you love opposites attract, country vs. city mindset, anything Texas, or simply a well-written, emotional, fun, and sexy romance, then you’ll want to start on the newest Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding right now.
