Blue Collar Billionaire is the third title in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Heir Apparent mini-series, and this one sizzles with sexual chemistry from the beginning to the end.  Lexi was a surprise to me, I actually wasn’t expecting her story at all and certainly not the adventure that we got.  Lexi returned to Royal, Texas after her marriage of 15 years ended up in divorce.  She reunited with her former boyfriend Brett (At the Rancher’s Pleasure) and for a bit that rebound romance seemed headed for another marriage… until Brett realized they were making a mistake and called it off.  In reality, Lexi hasn’t lived on her own, ever.  She’s gone from pampered daughter to her first husband, then to a former lover, and then back home again.  She’s a woman searching for her own identity and she’s determined to stand on her own without the help of any man.  Right now, she’s still on the town gossip’s radar as “Lexi who was dumped before her wedding” and that is something she’s annoyed about and pushing herself to go beyond.  Working with her father now, she’s trying to bring the family bank into the current century through PR and marketing to a slightly different clientele.  Daddy’s not so sure, but he’ll go along with his beloved daughter’s ideas for now.

Jack is a self-made man.  He’s worked hard for his business to reach the status it holds today and he’s not afraid of getting dirty or a hands-on approach to his construction business.  Lexi’s first experience with the man who runs the business that is creating the site for a very up class event didn’t go exactly as either expected, especially when Lexi thought she was talking to a worker, not the boss.  As Jack steps in to do a bit of rescuing in an awkward situation, these two are about to take that mutual attraction to a whole other level… and perhaps find their future in each other, eventually.

I really enjoyed Lexi and Jack together.  The sparks flying off of this couple could ignite a bonfire with no trouble at all.  So, yes, there is an immediate and intense sensuous attraction between them yet it quickly goes deeper than that as each discovers that the other isn’t exactly as they thought, and walls come down to let each other in.  I enjoyed watching Lexi’s growth.  It’s slow, not in your face, but slowly she’s leaving behind the woman who doubts her every action to someone secure in the relationship she has with Jack.  Until he wants to take it to the next level.

There have been little hints here and there that all is not quite right within the circle of people handling this major event.  A slow build-up but one that I’ll be keeping an eye on as this mini-series continues.

Blue Collar Billionaire kept me on my toes and entertained throughout.  We’ll run into some of the people we’ve met previously and add new faces as well.  If you love a really good romance with sizzling sexual tensions, a couple to root for, and a challenge to make it to that happily ever after, then you’d enjoy not only this story, but this series as well.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Available in paperback or for your favorite e-reader, mine is the Kindle.
