I’ve done this Challenge before on another of my romance websites, but my TBR Tower is so huge that this time it’s Happily Ever After Romance‘s turn at the Challenge.
The SIAM (Series in a Month) is just plain fun, with a prize (beyond bragging rights), and the chance to complete a series on your TBR that you’ve been meaning to get to… and now you can in a fun, challenging way. What’s not to love about that? Right?
Anyway.
I’m picking the Four Corners Ranch series by Maisey Yates this time. There are three books published in this series that seems planned for about six-ish books eventually. The titles include — Unbridled Cowboy—♥—Merry Christmas Cowboy—♥—Cowboy Wild—♥—The Rough Rider—♥—The Holiday Heartbreaker—♥—The Troublemaker—♥—
Since time isn’t always easy to find, this one works for me so I’m caught up when the next title in the series releases in July of 2023. I don’t care about winning the prize – I want bragging rights for my own enjoyment, proving that I can do this… and maybe repeat the process a bit more often to whittle that TBR Tower down a bit. In any event, that’s my intention, and if you’d like to take part the links are above, and using the graphic over in the upper corner will take you to the sign-up page to check it out!
Yep! I did it! Completed the series that I picked for the “Can You Read A Series In A Month?” Challenge from Berls & Michelle at Because Reading. (all links -graphic and word links lead you to the signup page) which began Sept 1st through September 30th.
I did change the series that I read from my original post (but that was updated within that post as well). I read the Coltons of Grave Gulch by Harlequin – a twelve-book multi-author mini-series with nine books published and three more through the end of the year.
I wasn’t trying for any prize here. What I was determined to do was complete this Challenge the best I could considering I haven’t the greatest track record with Challenges (I forget to go link up the reviews until far, far too late).
Uncovering Colton’s Family Secret by Linda O. Johnston
Agent Colton’s Takedown by Beverly Long
Proving Colton’s Innocence by Lara Lacombe
And I’m considering this one a win. I got up-to-date on a long series that I’m enjoying, got some books off of my TBR mountain (otherwise known as my Kindle), and I completed this Challenge within the time frame. Yep, that’s all a win in my mind. 🙂

A stalker threatens the family he never knew he wanted
Travis Colton finds that a passionate night with his co-CEO, Tatiana Davison, rocks his world.

We’re just a short time away from the return of the “Can You Read A Series In A Month?” Challenge from Berls & Michelle at Because Reading. (all links -graphic and word links lead you to the signup page) Begins Sept 1st through September 30th.
I’ve done this challenge in the past on other blogs that I have. But since I’m really trying to get caught up on series here at Happily Ever After Romance, I think this year (or this time) HEAR gets the honor of trying. 🙂
I have two series in mind, and because each has between 4 – 6 books either one would work… now to narrow the choice down before September 1st!
It’s a good way to get a few more books off of my TBR pile and enjoy some good stories. If you’re interested go check out the signup page for yourself.
Update: After a bit of looking through my overly packed Kindle I decided to go in a different direction. I’m reading the Coltons of Grave Gulch multi-author series by Harlequin for this challenge. It’s been “a year” so far and I need to get caught up on this series since I have all the books except the final four (because Harlequin changed the release dates (and added another title)… and, in fact, since the next one will release in late September I may have time to add that one to this challenge leaving only three yet unpublished stories to finish.
Uncovering Colton’s Family Secret by Linda O. Johnston
Agent Colton’s Takedown by Beverly Long
Proving Colton’s Innocence by Lara Lacombe
There are three titles that are not released yet in this series – so, can I really state with honesty that I’ve read a series in a month? Technically, no, not really. But then I never started this challenge with the thought of “winning” but with a determination to complete a challenge that has always eluded me… in other words, to prove something to myself. 🙂
A Colton Internal Affair by Jennifer D. Bokal drops on September 28, 2021, so I can get that one read before the month of this challenge is up. The rest? Well, I’ll enjoy them as they are published each month to complete this engaging, fascinating series.
So. I’m going to call this “Can You Read A Series In A Month?” Challenge a win and will look forward to the next time the Challenge comes around. I had fun, it felt good to make a plan and buckle down to get these titles read and off of my Kindle’s TBR pile (mountain). I was never going for the “prize” offered but for the satisfaction of knowing that I finished my own goal… that is the win for me. 🙂
