After a painful divorce from her high school sweetheart, triplet Jenny Weaver returns to River’s Edge with her young son. While happy to be reunited with her sisters and working at the family’s marina, she has no intention of jumping into the dating pool, especially going into the holidays. Then Gabe Dawson, once a shy nerd who tutored her in history classes, arrives home transformed into a handsome hunk who makes her pulse race.
Archeologist and history professor Gabe Dawson thought he’d long ago outgrown his teen crush on Jenny. Back in town for a few months to help his mom post-surgery, he can’t resist reaching out to Jenny. She’s as beautiful, warm, and funny as he remembered, and soon Gabe is reconsidering his future.
Gabe is determined to seize this second chance, but can he convince a very wary Jenny that a globe-trotter is ready to come home for good this Christmas?
River’s Edge, Indiana world now includes three series (so far):
Four Irish Brothers Winery started us off with — The Baby Contract —♥— Christmas with You —♥— Meant to Be —♥— A Small Town Christmas —♥—
Then we moved on to The Lange Brothers with — The Valentine Wager —♥— Falling for the Doctor —♥— The Fireman’s Christmas Wish —♥—
Of course, you don’t have to read the earlier series to enjoy the current one – but if you enjoy falling into an entire community where you’ll often see familiar faces from across all the somewhat connecting series, then this is the world you may want to visit. I’ve enjoyed this world from the very beginning, so I highly recommend all of these stories.
This is an adult 18+ story that may contain language, possible violence, and/or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

I have been so caught up in the lives of triplet sisters Jo, Jazz, and Jen since the beginning of The Weaver Sisters series. Jen and Gabe’s romance will bring the series to a close, yet what an amazing journey it has been. I so hope that we’ll soon be back in Indiana for another new series because there just have to be more stories to tell, right?
Christmas in River’s Edge is such a heartfelt romance as two high school classmates are reunited, and this time, the sparks fly between them like a sparkler on the 4th of July instead of the tutor and crush holder relationship they had back then. In high school, Jenny was the cheerleader in a relationship with the team’s football star. Gabe was a quiet, shy, nerdy guy who always had a crush on Jenny and hoped one day she’d notice him. Unfortunately, back then, all younger Jenny saw was Tuff and the dreams that were coming true for them. Reality sucks. It wasn’t long into their marriage that the true, the real Tuff showed his true colors, eventually they divorced, and Jenny, along with their son, Luke, moved home to River’s Edge to reunite with her sisters and work in the family marina.
Gabe also returned home to River’s Edge when news of a promising archeology dig was discovered and when his mother fell, resulting in an injury that would mean she’d need some help for several weeks, if not months. He is far from the nerdy high schooler he once was. Now, Gabe is a professor at a prestigious college and well known for his passion and involvement in archeology, and of course, is often teased for his resemblance to a certain other infamous Indy minus the whip but not the fedora. He may be older and wiser in many ways, but his feelings for Jenny have never faltered and now are growing into something more, something that could last a lifetime if nurtured and the woman he loves is willing to take a few risks romantically.
I absolutely loved this couple. It’s as though Ms. Reinhardt saved the very best for last when she created Jenny and Gabe. Their romance is realistic and believable, especially given the circumstances they find themselves in. I adored young Luke and enjoyed the irony (and wondered at the fact that the other Indy also shared screentime with another Luke) *insert raised eyebrow with a smile* The secondary characters always bring this author’s work to life, and it was so appreciated to see the updates to Jenny’s sisters and their journey into everlasting love.
In all, I had an amazing time back in this world and was sad to see it come to a conclusion…but it had to, eventually. If you love a romance that is well-written, believable, gives you all the good feels you could possibly wish for, takes place around the most magical time of the year, and reunites two people into their own happy future, then you’re going to love Christmas in River’s Edge.
