Make Believe Match is the fourth title in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding multi-author series.  Two people from very different backgrounds and outlooks on life are thrown together by one spilled drink — their first meeting has disaster written all over this encounter… or it could be the start of a forever kind of love if risks are willing to be taken.

It’s stories like Make Believe Match and characters like Oliver and Jessica that have always drawn me to Romance, and Harlequin in particular.  I want to believe that love triumphs over any type of difference a couple might face.  I want to live in a world where possibilities, no matter how unlikely, are explored, where risks of the heart are taken… and where love wins in the end. Overly idealistic?  Perhaps.  But that is the world that Romance and Harlequin allow me into – and I’m forever grateful for that invitation.

Oliver is a wealthy, sexy-as-sin, powerful man in his own right – he’s not overly flashy about it, but it settles upon his shoulders quite naturally.  Jessica has goals set out for herself, and she’s determined that nothing will stand in the way of reaching her particular prize.  Certainly, not a handsome man, a one-night fling, and a pretend engagement that feels all too real the more time she spends with this man.  But soon, pretend will fade into real feelings for them both. Now comes the important question.  Will they walk away or take the risk that their love is returned?

I had such a good time with Make Believe Match.  The story is well-written, emotional, sizzling with chemistry, and believable – and that is exactly what I want from any romance.
