A woman on the run must trust her family’s sworn enemy.

The cowboy she can’t have . . . is the one she can’t resist.

Annie Dempsey has two rules for her new life in Devil’s Door, Wyoming: no romance and no drama. Fresh off a bad breakup, she’s already avoiding love. And as long as she steers clear of the Merrick clan—her family’s sworn enemies—avoiding drama won’t be a problem.

But when a charming stranger steps in to protect Annie from a sudden threat, both her rules fly out the door. Because Annie’s mystery hero . . . is a Merrick.

Jonah Merrick won’t allow anyone—even a Dempsey—to be harmed on his watch. It doesn’t hurt that sweet, gorgeous Annie makes his heart beat like never before. Against his family’s objections, Jonah insists Annie hide out with him at his ranch while they try to outwit a dangerous pursuer.

But as the days turn into weeks, Jonah realizes he’ll stop anyone who tries to harm Annie . . . or the loving future they’re building together.

Meant to be My Cowboy is the final story in the Wranglers of Wyoming and a very good way to wrap it all up in a satisfying conclusion.

Annie is on the run and the best place that she can think of to disappear for a while is her uncle’s hometown.  There she can escape on long hikes in the wilderness, hopefully, blend in with the locals of this small town, and stay far away from her ex who is a nasty piece of work, a thief, and a man who has no problem letting her take the fall for something she didn’t do… and when she escapes his trap has no intentions of letting her survive to bring him down.

Jonah and Annie meet on one of those hikes when she believes she’s on public land but is really on Jonah’s.  A casual friendship begins over their hikes with only first names exchanged.  Neither would have expected to be enjoying the company of a member of the enemy’s family… but soon that fact, and Annie’s safety will come into play.  When Jonah learns that she is in danger his reaction is to protect her by bringing her to the family ranch… and finally, her connection with the man Jonah’s family has been in a feud with forever it seems is revealed.  Yet, both are beginning to have feelings for each other and suddenly that feud doesn’t seem quite so important to Jonah any more.

I enjoyed Meant to be My Cowboy, it wrapped up all the loose ends, gave me a couple to enjoy, lots of action, some steam, seeing the bad guy get exactly what he deserved, and hope for the future of not only this couple but all the people we’ve met in the Wranglers of Wyoming series.  Even though this series has been out for a bit now, it will be brand new to some readers and for them I’d say – if you love a good, solid story with hints of danger, sizzling chemistry, a puzzle to solve, and people to enjoy getting to know then this story, this series is one you’ll want to pick up soon.
