Rescued by the Colton Cowboy is the seventh title in the multi-author mini-series Coltons of Grave Gulch and this one is so intense with the action starting on the first page that I was quickly drawn into Soledad, Lyra, and Palmer’s story – for it is a story of the three of them on every level imaginable.  My heart broke when a sweet little baby’s life was changed in a moment of rage and obsession, yet her future is secure with a woman who loves her and will do everything in her power to keep Lyra safe.

I adored Palmer even while waiting for this cowboy to get his head on straight where love is concerned.  He’s a good man, shy until he knows people, and he’s had a crush on Soledad (and her baked goods) for a while now even though he hasn’t acted on it aside from his addiction to cookies from her shop.  He steps up to protect a terrified woman and an innocent baby girl the best ways he knows how… and he’s not afraid to admit that he has no clue where babies are concerned but he’s a quick learner nonetheless.

Soledad is such a strong woman.  Her devotion to her friend Annie and her godchild, Lyra, is obvious.  Trying to get them to safety was an impossible mission from the start, but they had to try.  She never thought their mad dash in the middle of the night would lead to Annie’s death or to her own life being turned upside down.  I admired her courage in the face of such tragedy, and that she could open herself up to love in the middle of everything that going on.  This couple belongs together, for all their differences, they fit perfectly.

While their story is full of danger, Rescued by the Colton Cowboy also moves the series arc along a bit further, gives us glimpses of previous couples, and the mounting tensions in the small town of Grave Gulch.  I’m enjoying this series so much.  If you love Romantic Suspense, figuring out puzzles, and an intense romance then this story, and this series, are a perfect match for you.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.
