The last thing Madelyn Franklin wants to do is pretend she and her ex, Charlie, are a couple again. But when a cartel leader begins to destroy local farms, the two realize they have a common enemy.
Former Navy SEAL Charlie Bronte is the hot-blooded, hard-headed, heart-melting man who Madelyn never really got over. Working with him to take down a drug lord is driving her nuts. Until they kiss… And suddenly their fake relationship feels all too real…
Deep down, Charlie knows he’s still attracted to Madelyn. But he never thought he’d get so carried away. Pretending to be her boyfriend is really getting under his skin. He’s worked undercover before, but nothing like this. And he never thought about settling down, until now.
But with the cartel getting suspicious—and dangerous—will he get the chance to let Madelyn know how he really feels… Before it’s too late for them both?

Title: SEAL’s Beautiful Ex
Series: Bronte Security Services #3
Author: Leslie North
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense

My Rating: 4.5 stars
The Bronte Security Services series comes to a conclusion in SEAL’s Beautiful Ex – and Charlie, whose company brought all these amazing men together, finally gets his story told. I liked Charlie throughout the series, but I absolutely adored him in this one… he’s more human, and proves that everyone does have flaws even when they cannot see that themselves.
We finally get to see the leader of the cartel up close this time around, and he is as dangerous, slimy, and corrupt as probably everyone who has read this series imagined… and more. This time he’s had his minions arrest the wrong woman for the wrong reasons – Madelyn. And if Charlie hadn’t already had this nasty piece of work in his sights then messing with Charlie’s ex-girlfriend would have guaranteed his involvement. But rescuing Madelyn ties right in with the case Charlie, Eric, and Ian have been working on, each has personal and professional reasons to see the cartel brought down right now.
I liked Madelyn, she wants absolutely nothing to do with her ex. And she will fight him on every decision, every opinion, every action all the while trying so hard to not let this new Charlie get to her emotions… and losing that battle badly. I enjoy it when former lovers get a second chance to get love right between them, and Charlie and Madelyn do have sparks flying all the time. The danger feels very real, building day after day, and we get a feel of what happens to a remote small town when evil tries to take over innocent lives. There were a few surprises, definitely sexy times, friendships, and teamwork in SEAL’s Beautiful Ex and I enjoyed every moment of this final story in the series.
