Seducing the Lost Heir, the first story in the Clashing Birthrights series, grabbed me by the emotions and never let go.  Honor and Logan’s story is full of sizzling chemistry but also of personal issues, a tragedy revisited with happier results yet family repercussions galore.  It was an intriguing beginning to the series, and now I want, no, make that need to know more about this family’s dynamics and how life treats Keaton and Kristin.

But, back to Honor and Logan.  Honor is engaged to Keaton, heir apparent of the wealthy and powerful Richmond family business.  Honor also works for Douglas, the current CEO, and Keaton’s father. Theirs isn’t a deep love match, the sparks have fizzled into a comfort zone that each is beginning to sense but not speak of just yet.  In fact, they’d probably be better off as friends, not lovers.  But the arrival of a long-lost son, kidnapped shortly after his birth, will change everyone’s life in far different ways.

I liked these characters, even the secondary ones who will one day have their stories told.  Logan isn’t coming to Seattle to steal the business from his siblings, he’s returning because he’s an honorable man, a self-made millionaire in his own right, who simply wants to know his birth family.  His entire life isn’t at all what he thought it was, as a chance discovery proved.  All he wants is to know the parents he was stolen from and to meet his twin brother and his sister.  It doesn’t sound like an unusual goal.  Yet, one encounter with Honor, even if it was a case of mistaken identity, will change the focus of this visit – and lead him to the woman he could love forever, should she see the truth among the confusion.

Honor was a more difficult character for me to fall for immediately.  Oh, I liked her, but she is so trapped in her own past experiences that she cannot or will not see anything much beyond that comparison.  I understood her reasons, even when I didn’t agree with her actions.

Seducing the Lost Heir was a story that captured my imagination, gave me a couple to root for, and situations to unravel.  It’s intense at times, sizzling sexy at others, and had me caught up in this family’s understandable drama from start to finish.  As I’m catching up on this series right now, I’m able to dive right into the next one but will have to wait until September 2021 for the third.  But if the first story is any indication, that wait will be well worth it in the end.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.
