Navy SEAL Spencer Nixon knows falling for Toni Williams is a bad idea. But some women are impossible to resist. Beautiful, intelligent Toni seems dedicated to helping underprivileged children…but her father is tangled in the dark underworld of international terrorism. And Spencer is convinced Coran Williams may have orchestrated his SEAL teammate’s murder.
To Toni, Spencer seems perfect in so many ways—from his sexy, toned body to his razor-sharp wit. But he has a violent side as well, honed by years as a Navy SEAL. And the truth is, it frightens her. Could she ever love someone trained to kill people?
How can Toni choose between family and a man she just met? When those two clash, will her broken heart be a casualty of their war?
This is an adult 18+ story that may contain language, possible violence, or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.
Series: SEAL Team Ten #3
Author: Leslie North
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Published: November 17, 2022
My Rating: 4.5 stars
Spencer is the third title in the SEAL Team Ten series, and the mystery, the danger, and the relationships are only getting deeper and more intriguing as we continue. While each story on its own could be considered standalone, I would really strongly suggest reading this series in order (if at all possible) for the mystery in the background builds with intrigue and information in each book.
Toni is in need of a bodyguard as she’s been receiving threats around her work in providing e-readers to children in various, war-torn, volatile spots around the world. She also happens to be the daughter of one of the men the team suspects of being involved in their teammate’s murder. Spencer has the assignment of getting in and discovering where her father is, and what her connection to this operation is. He never expected her to matter more than any other assignment, he certainly never thought she’d turn out to be his “one” of a lifetime. Now comes the challenge of keeping her safe while discovering who is the power behind the need to wipe Team Ten off the map by any means possible.
Spencer is well-written, full of suspense, and more questions that need answers. The intensity of the background story is growing and will come to a head in Kyle’s story. If you love a Romantic Suspense that will keep you flipping pages, with intriguing characters, vile villains, and a couple that you’ll be cheering on to their happy ending then Spencer (and this entire series) is perfect for you.
