Rebecca Hilton and Casey Shipley have been friends since college. She loves that he’s dependable and loyal, but that doesn’t make him dating material for her.

Casey fell in love with Rebecca almost the instant they met. But she has a “type” and he doesn’t check all the boxes.
When she shows up unexpectedly at his family’s ranch, he’s thrilled to see her. But he soon realizes she has eyes for his brother. His well-built, ruggedly handsome brother. Since he wants her to be happy, he agrees to help her get close to his brother.

But as clues start mounting up that Casey might be her soulmate, Rebecca starts to wonder why she and Casey never even kissed. And he looks back on their past with regret that he never let her know how he felt back in their college days.

Will Casey get a second chance to win the woman he knows is his forever love? And is Rebecca willing to see if their friendship is really something more?

My Rating:  4 stars

Taking His Chance continues the Billionaire Ranchers Second Generation series with a best friends to lovers styled romance with a slight twist.  And things are going to get far more complicated before Casey finds his happy ending with Rebecca.

I enjoyed Rebecca and Casey’s romance yet, to be frank, this one wasn’t my favorite of this series mainly because I could not really like Rebecca that much.  Now, that’s a personal observation which is what a review is all about really but she is so steadfast in not seeing Casey as anything but a best friend, even when she starts to feel that there might be more between them she still has made her plan and she’s sticking to it no matter who gets hurt in the long run… and it will be all three of them in the end.  The other man that Rebecca is interested in based mostly on a first-sight reaction is Casey’s twin brother, Junior.  Meanwhile, Casey would rather have Rebecca as a best friend if he can’t win her love but he also knows that his twin’s interest is just for the moment and he sees nothing but trouble ahead, yet still he will step aside in order for Rebecca to be happy.

I enjoyed Taking His Chance on many levels I just could not really like one of the main characters.  Rebecca and Casey’s story is well-written, with engaging characters, many returning familiar faces, and perhaps a touch of what’s ahead for Junior.  Overall, it’s a very good story that any Romance reader would love – it’s on me that I couldn’t love a main character much.
