The Billionaire Prince’s Surprise Son begins the Undercover Princes series with a solid romance that captured my imagination and my attention rather quickly.  My world is so far removed from billionaires or royalty that it’s always a fun adventure to watch people from all walks of life fall in love with all of its complications whether a prince or the guy down the block.

Nic and Summer’s romance is complicated, to say the least.  They met when Nic was doing his residency in a California hospital and had an intense affair which left Summer pregnant.  She had no idea that he was royalty or so unbelievably rich since Nic had used an incognito personality while in the country for several logical reasons.  Summer had no way to contact Nic about their child because he had suddenly disappeared leaving no contact information behind.  This second chance romance becomes even more complicated when Summer (and their son, Harry) show up at Nic’s prestigious hospital where Summer is entering the fellowship program.  Sparks are about to fly between these two and not always the sizzling sexy ones either.

I enjoyed The Billionaire Prince’s Surprise Son, yet I also have to say that Nic frustrated me to no end throughout this story.  He’s not a bad guy at all, but his actions are often thoughtless and even self-centered at times.  Running this hospital in the way he promised his brother he would with devotion and care took time away from everything else in life – and then there is the fact that he is a Crown Prince which means he has a country full of citizens to tend to as well.  Leaving very little time for himself or the woman he does love and their sweet son.  His schedule would exhaust any lesser man.  It took a while, but eventually, Nic gets his priorities straight… but not before he almost loses the two people who are the most precious to him in his life.

Summer is a strong woman, she’s had to be, and I adored her and little Harry.  There was so much that neither knew about the other, things that really mattered in understanding why certain actions happened, proving that communication in any relationship is so very important.  It was an emotional roller coaster of a ride watching this couple work through the differences, come to understand each other, and work toward that happy ending that this family so deserved.  I had fun here, and I believe you would, too.
