The Billionaire’s Accidental Legacy is the first story in the From Destitute to Diamonds duet, and it is such a heartwrenching, emotional journey told in terse, short, clipped sentences, hardly any paragraphs yet crammed full of intensity that kept me just that little bit off balance, on edge, waiting to see how these two deeply wounded souls could possibly find their way to happiness.

It truly felt as though there was not one additional word needed in Jessie and Ewan’s story.  I have to say that I don’t know if their story would have been so compelling, so deeply and equally filled with discovery for them both if it had been delivered in any other fashion.  I paid attention to every word because every phrase meant something to the development of the relationship between this couple.

I’m going to be vague on the plot because I believe you need to discover this couple and what drives them on your own.  I also believe that there will be a divide in how other readers view this one.  Jessie is not soft; she’s not the least bit fluffy, or perhaps, even likable all the time.  She is, however, focused on the plan she and her sister have devised for their freedom.  She is unique, truly, and you will discover that if you allow a very non-typical heroine into your heart.  Ewan will, at times, come off as very cold, almost indifferent.  He is not, but he is wounded, and we all know how a wounded animal acts when cornered.  They are a fascinating couple, and I completely enjoyed their story.  I’m definitely looking forward to Maren’s story come the holidays; two sisters so different in many ways, yet with the wounds from their shared past haunting them.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.
