It’s not all that often that we meet two people who are so stubbornly determined that love is simply not meant for them and will stick to that belief without fail.  But those are the stubborn traits of Jago and Dodi in the opening story of the Scandals of the Le Roux Wedding series, The Billionaire’s One-Night Baby.

Now, of course, I absolutely adored them both from the start, but I could also see from what we learn of their pasts why they would discount love having any control over them whatsoever and instead opted for a sensuous fling, one night together to get each other out of their sizzling chemistry attraction.  Only… it didn’t quite work out that way when Dodi finds herself pregnant and Jago cannot bear the thought of not having his child in his life.  Marriage?  Oh, that’s a line neither thought they’d ever cross but what happens when an attraction is given the chance to grow into full-grown love?

The thing is, I understood their reasons for not trusting in love – each having a different reason, but they were also valid ones as well.  It’s hard to imagine yourself in a committed relationship with the possibility of children when you had a jerk of a father as Jago did.  Also difficult to trust in an emotion that had left you brokenhearted and unhealed as was the case for Dodi who made sure other brides had their perfect moment but she never believed in that magic for herself.  It was fascinating to watch them work their way toward each other as their baby becomes more of a reality in their minds.

The Billionaire’s One-Night Baby is full of passion, hurt, the beginning of healing, and sizzling chemistry that neither could ignore.  I loved this couple and enjoyed their journey into love, the kind that does have the chance to last a lifetime, and doesn’t purposefully harm anyone.  If that’s the kind of romance that you love, a good, solid romance with a couple who obviously belong together in spite of themselves… then get started on the Scandals of the Le Roux Wedding series right now.
