They shared a past
Now they share a son

Cody Sayers learned the hard way that romance and bull riding don’t mix.

But a visit to Destiny Springs to meet his “biggest little fan” finds Cody face-to-face with his unforgettable ex-wife, Becca Haring—and her little boy.

His little boy.

Suddenly Cody’s taking to family life like a horse to water. But is this wanderin’ cowboy ready to hang up his spurs for good?

This is a romance that includes no swearing, no violence, and no sexual content (beyond a few light kisses).

I love a good second chance romance, especially when there are secrets to be discovered for not only the reader but the characters as well.  There was a time when Cody and Becca believed they had it all, right up until it all came tumbling down.  Now, several years later, they are about to be reunited when Cody comes to stay at her small inn to meet his “biggest little fan”.  The kid’s adorable but it’s who his mother is that will make all the difference in the world to Cody in The Bull Rider’s Secret Son.

To be fair, both Becca and Cody had played an equal part in the divorce – each for a different reason, but mainly they each thought they were headed in a different direction in their relationship and assumed that the other was fine with that.  Unfortunately, neither was and an unnecessary divorce became the final nail to close that door between them firmly shut.  Yes, unnecessary because this is a couple that did (and still does) love each other, they’re terrible at real communication but the love was real.

I had such a good time watching a tiny heartbreaker of a kid, Max, work his charm on Cody and help bring these two people back together again.  The Bull Rider’s Secret Son is full of emotions, it’s well-written with realistic situations needing equally believable solutions.  Becca has to decide if taking a risk on the man she still loves is worth the possible pain, and Cody needs to do some deep soul searching to discover what is really the most important thing to him right now.  They have choices, and walking alongside them as their minds and hearts began to heal was such an emotional experience.  I had fun with these characters and enjoyed their journey.
