Moving on is never easy…

Title:  The Montana Doctor
Series:  Grand, Montana #2

My Rating:  4.5 stars

The Montana Doctor continues the Grand, Montana series with two people reuniting in an unexpected place only to find that the sparks that made their one-night fling so unforgettable are ready to re-ignite in spite of the hesitation of them both.

Hannah has stepped away from her past, and taken a huge risk by moving to Grand, Montana to open her dream brewery.  It’s fair to say that she often thinks of her one night with Dallas, even if she is embarrassed to admit that it all began as revenge sex after discovering her long-time boyfriend had cheated on her.  She also never, ever expected to run into him in this small, out-of-the-way town.  She had made a pledge to herself to avoid all men, no exceptions to that rule.  She’s never going to risk her heart again.  Yet, this caring doctor is going to slowly work his way back into her life by bringing her deeper into the community and talking her into helping a depressed patient at the nursing home where Dallas tends the patients.  Dallas’s charm and sincerity were working – right up until her past found her and reared its ugly head once again.

Dallas, along with his friends, Ryan and Dan have inherited the Endeavour Ranch which is huge, profitable, and came with a ton of money… and a few strings attached.  Dallas’ part of the ranch meant opening up a clinic – which he took on wholeheartedly.  It gave him purpose, and a chance to stop thinking about the woman who got away… really, just disappeared after one amazing night together.  He’s heard a few rumors that make him believe Hannah Brand is here in town, having just opened up her pub/brewery.  Nothing’s going to stop him from trying to convince Hannah that he’s a safe bet and that they belong together.  Not even when her past shows up in town determined to make trouble for the woman Dallas loves.

I loved being back in Grand, Montana, and watching Dallas lose his melancholy stance and begin to work out how to get the woman he’s so attracted to give him the time of day… let alone agree to share his life.  The Montana Doctor is a sexy, fun, believable second chance for Hannah and Dallas to prove that love, real love, makes a difference in any relationship.  Their story is full of emotions from anger to light-hearted laughter… and possibilities.  Hannah is scared to risk her emotions again, Dallas doesn’t really believe he deserves happiness but they will have to put aside those fears if they are to make a complex relationship work.  I loved the epilogue, that was definitely a feel-good ending to this story.  I love the connections, too.  Yes, Hannah Brand is connected to The Montana Brands – love the small world feel to these books.

In all, I had fun here, got a few more hints as to who the mysterious benefactor might be, caught up with Dan and Jazz, and I’m looking forward to Ryan’s story next.  If you love a good, solid romance with two people who question themselves while falling in love then The Montana Doctor is perfect for you.
