City girl Janine Wilson’s career is taking off but the same can’t be said about her love life. No matter—as manager of the Inn at Blue Moon Bay, Janine’s in charge of throwing a huge party to celebrate the Inn’s recent expansion and doesn’t have time for distractions. Unfortunately, two big ones suddenly show up: her thrill-seeking incompatible ex, Cody, who refuses to accept their breakup, and Cody’s handsome and charming best friend, Texas cowboy Jackson Davis.

Reluctantly, Janine agrees to meet Cody for one last dinner because Cody says he has a huge business opportunity for the Inn. But when Cody takes her on a boat ride to show her his great idea, Jackson is at the helm. Janine has been trying to resist her attraction to Jackson because they have no common interests, not to mention he’s her ex’s best friend. Once they stop on a deserted island, though, Janine doesn’t expect the sparks that fly between them, the spontaneous kiss they share, or what Cody does after witnessing said kiss.

Janine was convinced she needed a sophisticated man who shared the same interests as her. Now that she’s been stranded on a deserted island with Jackson, will she discover he’s everything she never knew she really wanted?

The Oopsie Island is the sixth title in the Blue Moon Bay series and a delightful story of one woman’s journey from not really believing in herself or her worth to discovering that she’s far more than she’s ever given herself credit for in the past… and she deserves happiness with the man she’s been reluctant to admit that she’s fallen for since he is the best friend of her ex.  Now Janine and Jackson have the chance to explore those feelings (on both sides) with the knowledge that what they each thought was impossible is very probable if they let their guards down just a bit.

Everything you’d really need to know before picking up The Oopsie Island can be found in the Cover Description.  What isn’t there are the emotions, the kept carefully hidden emotions that both Jackson and Janine have been dancing around for a while now.  Oh, sure, Janine’s ex, Cody, does play a part in that dance but also each has a different idea of what their futures hold so going out on a limb and risking those feelings not being returned was enough to keep them silent.  Except being stranded on an island by that jerk of an ex does open doors – amidst panic attacks on Janine’s part – to possibilities and to a real, enduring love that could stand the test of time should they be willing to take that risk.

I enjoyed myself in the Blue Moon Bay world.  Janine and Jackson gave me a fun, romantic story with a bit of drama, a lot of familiar faces, and the belief that love wins against everything put in its path, even ourselves.  I will mention that this world is known to me although I hadn’t read Jackson and Janine’s romance previously.  The Kissed by the Bay series got a makeover that included new covers, new story titles, and a new series name – the stories have not changed.  So, for full disclosure, I do own a copy of the previously titled “All About That Kiss”.
