My Rating:  4.5

Sheikh’s Defiant Girlfriend continues the Botros Brothers series with a fun, sexy, “who is the more stubborn of the two of us” styled romance as arrogant, entitlement meets the harsh reality of one stubborn woman determined to be seen for herself, as an independent person… not someone to be claimed by a man who has never hidden his playboy ways.

I adored Amir in his brother, Tariq’s romance with Sara.  His devil-may-care ways and sense of humor often brought a chuckle in the most unexpected places.  Yet, frankly, I can see where his “I want you, I claim you, I own you” attitude toward Soraya would result in exactly what he got… shut down every single time.  Amir doesn’t know how to be anything but an entitled prince.  Anything he’s ever wanted he simply goes after… even if that something is a person.  Watching him try to win over Soraya’s attention and interest was at times, cringe-worthy in the sense of he just doesn’t get how he’s sounding to anyone else.  I loved watching the power struggle between this couple and was completely behind Soraya’s determination to have Amir really see her as an independent woman who made the choice to be with him as opposed to the “claimed” woman of a sheikh.

It was pure delight to see Amir get that “aha” moment, when what Soraya had been telling him finally came together in his mind.  It was so simple, yet so complex to Amir’s mindset.

The other part of this story that I enjoyed was the continuation in a way of Tariq and Sara’s romance.  We get to go along as Sara navigates the wedding plans and comes to an understanding with the other important woman in Tariq’s life… his mother.

In all, I had a blast back in this world.  Soraya is such a breath of fresh air in Amir’s life, and he’s only beginning to understand the implications of a woman in his life that is his partner in all things.
