Kennedy Martin is shocked when her ex calls days before his wedding, expressing serious second thoughts. Doesn’t he see his fiancée’s actually the glaze to his doughnut? Now she’s got no choice but to crash his wedding and convince the man he’s with the right woman.

Instead, she crashes into the absolute last man she ever wanted to see: Maverick Owens, her old college nemesis. Maverick is still as awful, infuriating, and just The Worst as ever—even if he looks way too sexy in his cowboy hat. And of course he’s convinced she’s actually at the seaside ranch to ruin the wedding.

Now the only way to get some face time with the groom and save this marriage is to participate in all sorts of pre-wedding events…with Maverick. Stuck on a canoe, making small-talk at cocktail hour, and even a hoedown with her worst enemy? This just might be the longest week of her life…

Genre:  Contemporary Romance/Modern Western Romance

I’m really hoping that The Wedding Crasher and The Cowboy is a peek into a series (one day) because it felt like a series starter, there are several people that I would love to see how life treats them romantically down the road.  So, yeah, I’m keeping fingers crossed that we’ll return to Maverick’s family ranch one day for more adventures.  But in the meantime…

Kennedy and Maverick deliver a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance with banter, and sassiness, along with touches of real-life losses, grief, and choices made.  To be fair, it took me a minute to warm up to the main characters who immediately take up their college adversary roles upon meeting once again.  And like any good story, we the readers, don’t know all the details just yet and as they begin to emerge, well, The Wedding Crasher and The Cowboy takes off with a romance that surprises no one but these two, and the chance to enjoy some of the funniest shenanigans I’ve seen a side-kick (BFF) pull off for a while.  I adored Andrew and if for no other reason than to see what he’s up to now, I would love to return to this world one day.

Without giving away spoilers, Maverick and Kennedy’s romance is full of laughter, mixed signals, new roles for each other, and the chance for finding that lifetime love if they’ll only take the risk.  I had such fun with their story, and if you love a good enemies-to-lovers romance then you’ll want to check out The Wedding Crasher and The Cowboy soon.
