Title:  Expecting Her Enemy’s Heir
Series:  Billion-Dollar Revenge #2
Author:  Pippa Roscoe
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Published:  April 25, 2023
Publisher:  Harlequin Presents
My Rating:  4.5

Expecting Her Enemy’s Heir concludes the Billion-Dollar Revenge duet with Amelia and Alessandro’s romance.  While I will always suggest reading duets or series in order with this one, I believe it’s even more important since both stories are happening at the same time, and there are overlaps in plots within each novel.  It’s certainly not required, but I would strongly suggest reading Bound by the Italian’s “I Do” first if at all possible.

Everything is finally in place.  The timing is perfect, well, almost perfect but this chance cannot be allowed to slip through her fingers because she couldn’t find one bit of corruption within the Rossi cousins’ business.  So, with all the work she and her sister, Issy have devoted to this deserved revenge, for ten long years, Amelia made the choice to tell one lie to Issy.  That one lie will change everything for these four people whose lives have become intertwined by revenge on both sides.

It’s impossible for me to explain the intensity or the complexity of the emotions in Amelia and Alessandro’s story.  Passion, anger, betrayal, and eventually love will all play a part as the sisters’ plan for revenge for the Rossi cousins completely destroying their world years ago become their reality.  A reality that isn’t going to pan out quite the way either Issy or Amelia expected.

I hurt for both Alessandro and Amelia for different reasons.  They’ve lived their truth, but neither knew the other side of the situation until now.  And that fact will change so much, but it doesn’t happen easily or quickly as this couple navigates an unexpected passion for each other, a pregnancy that neither is ready for, and watching their hopes and dreams for the future fade from sight.  I understood their reasons for why they acted as they did, but the anguish they put each other through before they took the risk of really, completely trusting, and loving each other is a major part of their journey.

I loved the way Issy and Amelia’s stories merge in some places, and go their separate ways in others.  I adored Alessandro and understood his reasons for his actions perhaps more than Amelia’s.  Together they are on fire with a passion and anger that knows no end.  This couple’s journey is filled with emotions all the emotions possible, and their eventual happily ever after future is a hard-fought-for victory.  Their story lingered in my mind for days after I finished, and I’ll definitely be doing a re-read soon.  If you love a passionate enemies-to-lovers romance, then you’ll fall in love with this one.
